About Cleveland
About Cleveland
Cleveland Golf is an American golf equipment company based in Huntington Beach, California. The company was founded in 1979 by Roger Cleveland, originally producing replicas of classic golf clubs from the 1940s and 1950s. Cleveland currently produce a full range of golf clubs and accessories.
In 1990, Roger Cleveland sold his company to ski manufacturer Rossignol, who themselves were bought out by Huntington Beach based Quiksilver in the summer of 2005.[1] However, in 2007 Quicksilver sold Cleveland Golf, and it's Never Compromise subsidiary, to Japan-based SRI Sports Limited, owner of the Dunlop Sport brand in Japan. It was later announced that Cleveland Golf operations would be consolidated with those of Srixon, SRI Sports other golf brand. Although both brands would continue, Cleveland would be taking over marketing in North America, with Srixon doing likewise in Europe.
TaylorMade also utilizes the Flight Control Technology in its new fairways, the R9 and R9 TP fairway woods. Like with the R9 drivers, the fairways feature the FCT sleeve and FCT bolt, and give the golfer the ability to adjust the club's look at setup and effect changes in ball flight and trajectory.
The TaylorMade R9 fairways come in lofts of 13, 15, 17 and 19 degrees, both right- and left-handed. The stock shaft is a 70-gram Fujikura Motore graphite shaft. The MSRP is $275 per club.
The R9 TP fairways offer the same loft options but with a tour-caliber 85-gram Fujikura Motore F1 shaft. The MSRP is $360 per club for the tour-preferred models.
Both the R9 and R9 TP fairway woods become available on March 20, 2009.

I have two drivers and I can't decide which one to use?
Because of off days, it's hard for me to tell which one I hit better. One is a Cleveland Launcher 400 and the other is a Bobby Jones by Jesse Ortiz Hybrid. Which one would you suggest? I know it's hard to tell if you've never hit them, but if you have, any help would be great.
Sorry, didn't mean to put hybrid.
These are both quality clubs, just because more people are familiar with the Cleveland doesn't make it the better club. I would suggest taking both clubs to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls to see which works best for you.
Distance is only a part of it. Which club is most accurate for you? Which is most consistent? Which one can you work the ball with the best? Take your time in determining which works best for you, then use it with confidence on the course.
